So, I have been researching with the Unity Engine and dedicated some time to study about it. So far, these are the proposed changes.
The game now uses Unity Engine, which is flexible, and needs less coding, thanks to certain plugins.
Navigation is now RPG-styled, 2D sprites roaming in a 3D world. I chose cel-shaded 3D as pictured below.
The sprites will be animated with inverse kinematics. I'm also pushing for further customizations for the player character, like body and build, etc. (obviously, he'll stay as a 6th grader) Pre-generated characters are also possible, and there is a possibility of additional (albeit minor) characters that can give depth to the story.
Since the save will obviously be incompatible, i'm also thinking of merging Spring and Summer in the mix. All the corrections that were listed will be applied there instead. There might be a bit of retcons
, but purely minor ones.
The things I was unable to do with flash, I will be able to do with Unity. That includes optional errands, and other stuff that was obviously cut from the Spring chapter. I'll try to balance out stats and events as well.
I'm still finding a way for donations, since Amazon's service was only for US residents. Paypal has been a bitch to me, so I can't make an another one. I -DEFINITELY- need help with this, since it has been terribly rough lately.
Most designs are not yet final, and system ideas are welcome.
EDIT: Major props to this post.
Thanks, that's what it's meant to convey.
